Boston Uncorked is excited to be partnering with Samuel Adams Beer (Boston Beer Co.) and enthusiasts from Boston's home grown BeerAdvocate.com for a friendly, expert-guided wine, beer and FOUR course food pairing event.  This is a very special, limited-seating engagement being extended to our most frequent wine event attendees only.

"Periodic inclusion of specialty beers...in our tasting event calendar..." is what's been written on our website since day-one (ref.: About Us page).  Why do this?  Wine and beer are both fermented creations from the fruits of nature's bounty...they are siblings in that respect, and with the vast variety of each produced, the processes of tasting and truly experiencing them are really quite the same.  We can think of no better partner for our first-ever wine and beer tasting event than Boston's own international award-winning Samuel Adams. 

Joining us and sharing his incredible knowledge and passion will be Jim Koch, Founder and Brewer, Samuel Adams.  Jim will provide fun and entertaining guidance and information to us as we taste a selection of their beer portfolio paired with each course.   (Did you know Samuel Adams produces 18 different beers?).  Expect some fabulous surprises!!  

Will Jim convince you of the efficacies of beer and food pairings?  It's a sure bet that he will, as beer and food definitely go together.  But wait. This event is designed to be a beer and wine challenge, or shall we say, "sibling rivalry", with competition in the form of wines that have been selected to pair with the food as well. 

Wine expert Mark Leighton will be with us to share the nuances of the wines and how they complement each course we are eating.  Each course will be paired with a beer and a wine.  Palate-sensory overload? -- Jim and Mark will guide us to ensure we properly explore, experience and evaluate each tasting for a pleasurable and memorable experience.

This will be an incredible opportunity to uncork your palate and explore how the various beers and wines taste -- both on their own as well as paired with the foods.  Explore the essence of each.  Experience a new flavor when paired with the food.  Exclaim your favorite pairing. 

This will be an interactive event; ask questions of Jim and Mark, share your thoughts, and ENJOY!

ON FILM: Oh yes, another cool thing -- a crew is going to be with us filming Jim Koch and getting some shots of attendees enjoying the tasting -- for potential use in a Samuel Adams commercial.  No guarantees you will be filmed, let alone end up in a commercial, but there'll be a consent form everyone will have to sign upon arrival in case.  OK with you?  OK with us!  Also, by law you must be 25 or older to be in an alcohol commercial.  We need everyone at this event to legally qualify, so, for this event we must enforce a minimum age of 25 years old.  Not our rule but we've gotta enforce it.
