Summer Solstice IV (94)
Thursday June 19, 2008 :: Boston Uncorked and 150 of our closest friends celebrated the summer solstice (Ok, we were one day early. Sue us.) atop the viewing deck of The Sports Club/LA. The weather was perfect, the wines were a hit, the Patrick Purdon jazz duo was excellent, and the food from blu was outstanding. -
Vino e Cibo Edonistico (17)
Monday May 19, 2008 :: 45 folks descended upon Eclano in the North End for a fabulous, five-course food and wine dinner. -
Introduction to Blind Tasting (16)
Tuesday April 29, 2008 :: 25 attendees participated in our first ever blind tasting event. This class was held in conjunction with the BCAE. Given the overwhelmingly positive response, we'll definitely be doing this again! -
3rd Anniversary Celebration (28)

Monday July 23, 2007 :: 125 wine enthusiasts met up at Ivy to explore wines from around the USA, with a focus on non-Californian offerings. Featured wines came from Oregon, Washington, Massachusetts and New York. -

Thursday June 21, 2007 :: Over 150 wine fans participated in Boston Uncorked's third Summer Solstice event at The SportsClub/LA. Despite being forced by a looming storm to relocate indoors, a fabulous time was had by all. -
Wine 201: Dinner at Eclano - Italy vs. California (25)
Tuesday May 22, 2007 :: A full house of wine and food enthusiasts gathered at Ristorante Eclano in Boston’s North End for Boston Uncorked’s first-ever Wine 201 dinner event. For each of the four courses we paired and compared Italian and California wines resulting in an intriguing and enlightening experience of flavors. -
Mediterranean Wines at Croma (37)
Wednesday April 25, 2007 :: 70 Uncorked enthusiasts merged on Newbury Street's Croma for a sampling of Mediterranean wines. Attendees compared and contrasted offerings from Spain, Italy and Greece while enjoying an array of food samplings from the Croma kitchen. -
2nd Anniversary Wine Celebration (29)
Wednesday March 28, 2007 :: 150 familiar friends and new Uncorked members gathered at Vox Populi to celebrate Boston Uncorked's 2nd birthday by tasting 23 wines from Portugal, Argentina, Chile, New Zealand, and California. There was a great buzz in the room and there is tremendous anticipation for the new events coming up in 2007. -
Wine 101: Meet the Wine Maker (43)
Monday March 12, 2007 :: This was an incredible evening of fun and enlightenment as we tasted the fabulous wines of Wattle Creek Winery (CA) and were given very interesting and valuable insight about them by the wine maker himself, Michael Scholz. Teaching us some important and intriguing points about the act of wine tasting was Mark Leighton. -
Unscrew Your Valentine (42)
Monday February 12, 2007 :: Boston Uncorkers gathered at The College Club of Boston in Back Bay for an attitude change on the corks vs. screwcaps issue and learned-by-tasting that there really are nice wines that come in screw-cap bottles. In addition to sampling some of the many great-tasting screwcap "value" wines, we also tasted some fine mid and higher-end screwcap wines. Lesson learned: don't decide on your wine by the packaging alone! -
Wines of the Southern Hemisphere (67)
Wednesday January 17, 2007 :: For our first event of 2007 we gathered 110 Uncorked wine enthusiasts at The Living Room to chase away the cold weather with some new world wines from Chile, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand. On this, our first really cold night of the season, these wines from below the Equator warmed our taste buds along with tasty hors d'oeuvres to nibble on and being among great people! -
California Cheer (46)
Monday December 18, 2006 :: Our first-ever December tasting event was a big success as we gathered in the very holiday-festive Faneuil Hall at Kingfish Hall for some delicious "California Cheer". This was our final event of 2006 and we did it in style with great wines such as 2002 Clos Du Val Stag's Leap District Cabernet, 2004 Summers Zinfandel, 2004 Clos du Val Chardonnay, 2004 J. Uncork the Code (27)
Wednesday November 29, 2006 :: 30 wine enthusiasts gathered at the Fine Wine & Culinary Center at Gordon's in Waltham for Boston Uncorked's first-ever blind tasting and a great education on the nuances of wine tasting. The more expensive wines were not always the favorite! Great food, great information on deciphering wine lists, great wines and great people made it a truly fun and enlightening evening. -
Wines of the World at The College Club of Boston (46)
Thursday November 2, 2006 :: 100 wine enthusiasts gathered in Back Bay at the elegant College Club on Commonwealth Ave. for a two hour tour of 27 old-world and new world wines representing 9 countries across the globe. Beautiful cheeses and hot hors d'oeuvres, and most of all great people, made this a wonderful wine experience. -
Wine 201 - Exploring Australia (33)
Monday October 23, 2006 :: Uncorked's first Wine 201 event as part of our wine education series of intimate tastings. 38 wine enthusiasts gathered in the Wine Room at Sonsie where Jason Cooper from The Grateful Palate guided us through 8 delicious boutique Australian wines. Sonsie served tasty hors d'oeuvres to help soak up the grape libations. After an hour of "class" we broke into a reception and tasted 5 more wines! -
Westport Rivers Vineyard & Winery Excursion (58)
Saturday September 30, 2006 :: Boston Uncorked's 2nd annual vineyard excursion was on a beautiful, sunny and warm fall day. 44 Uncorkers experienced an intimate and educational tour of the vineyard and winery, learning some history of wine making in New England, and then enjoyed a fabulous and insightful tasting of 7 locally grown and produced wines along with lunch in the Long Acre House. It was a lot of fun and Boston Uncorked will be doing more wine excursions in the future! -
FenwayFEST (18)
Friday September 15, 2006 :: Boston Uncorked sponsored the HeyLetsGo FenwayFEST party, and Uncorked volunteers met lots of party-goers who came to our table to learn about Boston Uncorked. There is so much interest in wine among people of all ages! Many people signed up for our mailing list -- becoming Boston Uncorked’s newest Members! La Vie de Bistro (26)
Monday July 17, 2006 :: Members escaped the heat & hustle of downtown to the Navy Yard Bistro & Wine Bar in Charlestown; a quaint location that provided an ideal, intimate setting for a French wine tasting. We had some terrific French reds, including the Pomerol and Mythique, but on this very hot day the cold whites from Spain and Italy were also quite popular! -
Summer Solstice II (44)
Wednesday June 21, 2006 :: Our 2nd annual roofdeck wine soirée, with tasty reds and whites suited perfectly for summer, add-in friends - old and new, live jazz music, unique artwork, appealing light appetizers from blu restaurant and a multi-million dollar view, all together on the year's longest day of sunlight. This turned out to be one of the best days of the year with temps in the mid 70s, low humidity and not a cloud in the sky. What a way to ring in summer, and what a place to be in Boston to catch an unfettered sunset with a glass of wine in your hand! -
It's All Greek To Us at Meze Estiatorio (53)
Tuesday May 23, 2006 :: Meze Estiatorio in Charlestown. At our largest event to-date, 180 of us enjoyed a fabulous evening of Greek culture in the form of 17 different wines from Greece paired with luscious Greek small plates (meze), live Bouzouki music with accompanying guitar, and the enchantment of a traditional belly dancer. It certainly was all Greek to us, and we loved it! -
J. Lohr Allure at Sonsie (1)
Monday April 24, 2006: J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines treated Boston Uncorked to a special, intimate tasting of it's limited production 'Vineyard Series' wines: 2003 J. Lohr Hilltop Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, 2002 J. Lohr Carol's Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, 2004 J. Lohr Arroyo Vista Vineyard Chardonnay, 2005 J. Lohr Carol's Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc. We had such a great time that we forgot to take a single picture! We are sorry. Alas, we'll be doing more with J. Lohr in the near future!! Their wines are THAT good! -

A Walk About Down Under (32)
November 15, 2005 :: Our final walk-around event of 2005! This Select event featured the ever-popular wines of Australia. Fabulous and plentiful hors d'oeuvres were served by the friendly staff at The Living Room. This was a great way to finish our 2005 large-scale, walk-around event series. -

Newport Wineries Excursion (80)
Saturday October 1, 2005 :: What was one of the most beautiful days of the year, on this sunny, early Autumn day we had the experience of wandering through the vineyards, tasting the grapes and watching the transformation of grapes into wine during this excursion to Greenvale Vineyards and Newport Vineyards in Rhode Island. Great New England wine, a great picnic lunch spread, and great people. We couldn't have asked for anything more! 40 Boston Uncorkers ventured on this wonderful trip, and we'll do another vineyard trip in early fall 2006. -
It's Still Summer! California Wine Celebration (28)
September 20, 2005 :: "Gov. Ahhnold", by proclamation, declared September as "California Wine Month", and Boston Uncorked siezed on this opportunity to explore some excellent wines from this great wine producing state. Have you ever had a Menage a Trois? Well, we had one here. Menage a Trois wine, that is! And it was one of the favorites. Anthem Restaurant was our venue and served up some delicious appetizers and a fabulous cheese and fruit platter. -
Zin, Noir & Chard - In The Navy Yard (39)
August 1, 2005 :: Boston Uncorked came to the Navy Yard Bistro and Wine Bar in Charlestown for a night of wines from California’s Central Coast paired with carefully selected tastings to match! It was a beautiful mid summer evening and we enjoyed the outdoor patio too. -
Wine 101 (24)
July 19, 2005 :: Boston Uncorked held its first Wine 101 at Rialto in The Charles Hotel in Cambridge. Wine expert, Mark Leighton, guided this educational and enlightening tasting. The "class" portion of the event was followed by a reception where we tasted even more wines. -
Summer Solstice (46)
June 23, 2005 :: Boston Uncorked featured over 18 wines on the outdoor viewing deck at The Sports Club/LA overlooking Boston Common. Light hors 'doeuvres were provided by blu restaurant, music provided by Bang & Olufsen and artwork by local artist Alexander Scott. This was a lovely evening and quite a fabulous way to celebrate the official start of summer in Boston! -
Vino Fino :: Vinho Belo (52)
April 27, 2005 :: That's "Fine Wine" in Spanish and Portuguese, respectively. For our second-ever event, Boston Uncorked introduced Spanish, Portuguese & Argentinian wines to our fellow wine enthusiasts. Portuguese wines? Who knew? Well, they are fabulous. Spanish wines are a known great value, and Argentina is coming into its own in world class wine production. 150+ people had a fun time enjoying these wines at Vox Populi. -
Launch Party (32)
March 29, 2005 :: Boston Uncorked comes to life at our Launch Party at Vinalia. Tickets went on sale on March 9th and this event sold out in 10 days! We knew we must be on to something, with over 120 fellow wine enthusiasts joining us at this event. Hey, we started this because we didn't want to taste wine alone. What have we gotten ourselves into!? Whatever it is, it's sure going to be fun!!!
