BLIND-TASTE | DE-MYSTIFY
WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 29, 2006
7:00 - 9:00PM :: $55 / PERSON

-- Taste, Eat, and Get Smart with us while uncorking the "code" and de-mystifying many aspects of ordering wine from restaurant wine lists. --
Sound familiar?: You're out to dinner and the menu reads like a foreign language. Hidden in the fancy entrée descriptions are words you know like "Filet Mignon" or "Salmon" or "Duck". You pick one...phew!...but next is an even harder challenge - WHICH WINE to order!
Red? White? Rosé? Does it matter? Are there absolute rights and wrongs? And most of all, why are some wines only $35, while others are $235 or more, with choices galore in between?! Is there really a difference to your taste buds? In the quality? Does it require ordering the expensive bottle to be "right" and to really impress a date or business partners with a great wine?

You're invited to leave any preconceptions or inhibitions at the door and join us at the new Gordon's Fine Wine & Culinary Center. This state-of-the-art kitchen and classroom will be our private venue for an evening of instructive and helpful knowledge about ordering wine with your food at a restaurant or buying it for entertaining dinner guests at home.
<TASTE>
Gordon's Education Director, David Singer, Certified
Specialist of Wine and Master Somellier Candidate, will lead us as we blind-taste value priced wines along with expensive, "high-end" wines, and ask you to choose which you like best -- before revealing their identities. He'll share tips on how to work with a restaurant sommelier to select the right wine(s) from the list for you or your table. It's the sommelier's job to help you, and you should let him/her, but why not be more self-empowered in choosing the wine for you?
<EAT>
This is a culinary center, and throughout this process there will be Tapas-style heavy hors d'oeuvres for our enjoyment and to assist in assessing the wines (click Here for the menu). We'll be seated restaurant-style at round tables in this intimate, modern room that includes high-tech audio and visual gear to ensure everyone is in the center of the action. There will be a lot to sink your teeth into!

<GET SMART : BE SMART>
This is also attached to Gordon's wine and liquor shop. You'll have an opportunity to take advantage of great deals** on your personal and gift wine and spirit needs for the holidays and beyond.
An enriching experience awaits, and the timing is ideal with all of the holiday festivities involving wine, and also for starting 2007 armed with new skills for deciphering all those wine lists.
We hope you'll join us, and
