Boston Uncorked follows up its "Wine 101" tastings and extends this popular education-format series with our first Wine 201 learning event.

Join 40 wine "curiousseurs" as we explore some new-world wines from Australia in the intimate setting of Sonsie's downstairs Wine Room.

This will be a sit-down learning and tasting experience during the first half, followed by a wine reception with additional wines to discover and taste and people to meet in the second half.  Appetizers will be included throughout.

NOTE: There are no prerequisites to attending Wine 201.  This is open to everyone regardless of your previous experience or knowledge of wine.  This will be great for beginners and veteran tasters, alike.

Sharing his insights and knowledge of these Australian wines will be Jason Cooper from The Grateful Palate, one of the premier Australian wine importers in the U.S.  We'll have an opportunity to taste 12 wines over the course of the evening, from Rieslings to Shiraz's to GSM blends (Grenache, Syrah, Mouvedre).  These mid to high-end wines are listed on The Cork Board.

Sonsie's Wine Room provides a terrific setting for this focused look, taste and discussion of wines for a small group of enthusiasts sharing in the experience.   With a wall of glass showing the temperature-controlled wine cellar behind the small bar, the stage is set for a two hour immersion in wine. 

Wine 201 will take us beyond the swirling and smelling of wine in the glass where we'll discuss other aspects of wine  including complexity and "terrior".
