It's time for Boston Uncorked's 2nd annual New England vineyard trip! Come with us for a day to Westport Rivers, New England's largest vineyard, located in Westport, MA.
Best known for their extraordinary sparkling wines that rival any from around the globe and are featured on the wine lists of many of Boston's finest restaurants, Westport Rivers also produces estate Chardonnay, Rosé of Pinot Noir, Pineau de Pinot and other Alsatian varietals, and a wonderfully peppery non-estate Cabernet Sauvignon.
We'll begin with a guided tour at the vineyard, learning a bit of history of wine making in New England. Then we'll go inside the Long Acre House for an educational tasting and lunch. Westport Rivers' wines are celebrated for refreshing the palate and pair well with many foods.

Take a break from the city and enjoy an early autumn day of wine and food among friends, old and new. (Photos of 2005 trip to Greenvale and Newport Vineyards, RI)
Truly taste some local flavor as we experience these wines and enjoy food featuring smoked seafood platter, cheeses, local-farmed vegetable salad, a selection of breads, and then a bit of chocolate to taste with one of the wines -- coffee and pastries, too -- an arrangement just for Boston Uncorked Members. (Please let us know in advance if you have any food restrictions).
Our host for our tour, tasting and food pairing will be Executive Chef Kerry Downey Romaniello.
The engraved wine glass from the tasting is yours to keep. Use it to enjoy a bottle of your favorite from the vineyard store while relaxing on the grounds, or bring some home for another time. There will be time after lunch for this or to walk the grounds.
Forget the worry and hassle of driving and relax on a luxury bus for the trip down and back. This entire excursion will be all about experiencing the sites and tastes of some of the best this area has to offer. Here is a snapshot of the itinerary:
