MONDAY JULY 23, 2007
Boston Uncorked pays tribute to our nation's birthday and invites you to join us in a toast to America as we enjoy a taste of USA wines, with an emphasis on specific wine-making states.
We'll debunk the prevailing myth that the only good American wine comes from California. While the Golden State is the largest producer of wine in the nation, wine is made in all 50 states.

The climate of the Pacific Northwest is ideal for viticulture (cultivation of grapes), and world renowned wines are produced there such as Oregon Pinot Noir and Washington State Rieslings, Cabernets and Merlots.
We'll also indulge in some very highly acclaimed wines from the Northeast. Bill Russell, winemaker and owner of Westport Rivers Vineyard and Winery here in Massachusetts (as seen in the July issue of Boston Magazine), will be our special guest for the evening and he'll be pouring several of his crisp, refreshing wines, including some awesome sparkling wines that'll tantalize your palate.
Escape the heat, toast our country's wines, and enjoy the diverse ambience of Ivy Restaurant's mezzanine loft and Cava Lounge. Included with this tasting experience will be some of Ivy's signature small plates such as Chicken and Arugula Baked Ravioli; Black Truffle and Fotina Stuffed Aranchi; Marinated NY Strip Steak Skewers with Mango Teriyaki sauce; and Tuna Crudo with Cucumber.
It's a tasty, satisfying salute to...
